Joseph Kirkland monologue. American accent. Possibly Tennessee, Texas, or Alabama.

"I was born in ----T/T/A/?---- in March of '82. I spent my childhood playing ball, and my adult life as a corporal in the United States armed forces.

BASEBALL GAME, KID BATTING. USA ARMY, REGIMENT SALUTING.

"I got married in 2022, to the sister of one of my brothers-in-arms. A Ukrainian born American woman named Deborah. We honeymooned in her home country to make up for the fact that, her her old man aside, her family couldn't come to the wedding.

BLURRED SHOT OF WEDDING, QUICKLY INTO GETTING OUT OF A CAR INFRONT OF A COUNTRY ESTATE.

"Three weeks into our visit, the Russians launch an attack on Ukraine, and leaving suddently became a second priority if her family couldn't come with us.

FAR OFF EXPLOSIONS, TANK AND RUSSIAN SOLDIERS MOVING DOWN ROAD.

"Things got bad quickly. The family estate was a few miles out from the city of Kharkiv, and we wereforced to move further inland with two cars full of survival rations, blankets, and a couple of armfulls of their most prized posessions.

BLURRED BURNING BUILDINGS, HURRIEDLY PACKING CAR.

"Hostel life kept us well groomed for the time being, but soon it was time to move again, and they were also calling for folks to pick up arms and help to hold some sort of defence against the incroaching red line.

BLURRED RECRUITMENT VAN HANDING OUT GUNS

"Before you knew it - albiet after a few heavy arguments with my new spouce - I was a voulenteer in the Ukranian army.

BLURRED ARGUING COUPLE, WHITE DRESS, MILITARY JACKET.

----PAUSE TO BLACK FOR FEW SECONDS----

"I saw little action. I seemed to always get to an area after shit had hit the fan, the fan had come to a slow stop, and I was just in time to help clean up the mess and move on any survivors.

RUSSIANS LEAVING, FAR EXPLOSIONS, JOSEPH RUNNING ALONGSIDE VAN TOWARDS BURNING BUILDING, NO ENEMIES TO BE SEEN

"This was my life for two years, as the country fell into a more and more dire state, and as many people as able were ferried by any means possible into neighboring countries... And for some fucking reason, Africa. God knows why there.

"Ukrain has been fully evacuated, to the best of their ability, and Russia has been moving troops to the boarders of Lithuania - being granted passage peacefully by Belarus - and, Poland.

"Big city. Right by the boarder. One road out, at least in the direction they were headed. Easy to blockade.

ZOOM IN, SHOW BLOCKADES.

"NATO takes it's sweet ass time to come to any decision on when or how to act. Eight fucking days already. But that didn't stop England and Germany deploying combat ready troops within two days.

NATO MEETING ROOM, APATHETIC MEN. BRITISH RED BERETS, FLAGPOLE. GERMAN GREEN BERETS, FLAGPOLE.

"Took 'em six days to reach the front, and they were ordered not to aggress in any way, only halt the progression of the Russian line.

WIRE BARRICADE, MANNED CHECKPOINT.

"'Course, I was still in Ukraine, and we were preparing to go south and around the issue, but we had no idea what would be safe and what wouldn't...

"So for now, we were just staying hidden.

HUNCHED IN BASEMENT.

"We each had an AK-74 rifle. Between us, about a month's worth of tinned food. Some binoculars. An unlikable brown tabby cat who had visible cabin fever. A two-way radio, and three porn magazines. Oh, and a rodent infestation. Hense the fucking cat.

PAN TO SUPPLIES, GUNS, FOOD - SCURRYING MOUSE, CAT EATING DEAD MOUSE

"At this point we knew the nameless town we were in was occupied, but we hadn't peeped our heads out to find out how many were out there.

RUSSIAN PATROL.

"There were a few probable buildings for their base of opperations, and unfortunately all they were pretty fucking close by. So we just stayed put.

PAN ACROSS BASEMENT, CAMERA PAST JOSEPH, LOCK ONTO SLEEPING UKRAINIAN.

EXPLOSIONS.

GUNFIRE.

"The fuck was th-

"Shut your fucking mouth (hissed)(Ukranian accent)

PAUSE. TENSION.

MORE GUNFIRE.

SILENCE.

"HELLO? We're NATO. Are you in there?

PAUSE. SHORT GESTURING.

"We're in here.

Joseph sees sniper preparing to shoot, aiming at the German Leutenant, through his binoculars.

Joseph kicks German Leutenant in the head, removing him from the bullet's path, and taking the gunshot to the knee, which is obliterated.

Fade slowly.

Cries of assurance, "breathe", "medic", etc.

Joseph passes out, fade to black.

Joseph wakes up in hospital.

JOSEPH STRAPPED IN. RUNS IN MACHINE. 10 FOOT MECHANICAL SUIT AVATAR RUNS ON GRASS BESIDE BUNKER.

HE WILL BE YOUR SHADOW, DON'T EXPECT HIM TO HELP IN A TIGHT SPOT AS IF YOU ARE SOMEHOW COMPROMISED

YOUR JOB IS TO ENTER THE TRAINING FACILITY, AND GET TO THE SECOND FLOOR WINDOW IN THE REAR OF THE BUILDING OPPOSITE THE OPPERATIONS CENTRE

AND PENETRATE BOTH WINDOWS TO DESTROY ALL EVIDENCE AND PERSONAL WITHIN THE ROOM HOLDING ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE SEA MINES.

"I'm throwing a backpack through two windows and across an alley?

"It's not very fucking aerodynamic, is it?

Wheelchair, Physio, practicing, montage.

"Britain ammassed it's navy in Portsmouth, and those sqatting bastards nuked them.

"We think that Russia knows It can't reach the U.S. with It's fleet docked in Kaliningrad, and they can't move them until the sea mines are cleared.

"That's why the land troops are making their way through Lithuania.

"They've hit a NATO roadblock but it shouldn't stop them for long, as artillery gets in place to knock them out of the park.

"We have a small window to get in there and sabotage the clearing of the mines to avoid Russia getting a checkmate on American soil and commencing armageddon.

"U.S. subs are four days out to take out the warheads on the Russian fleet, and we have to keep them grounded before this becomes an underwater dog fight.

CALLS IN RADIO OPPERATOR, BOTH PREPARE FOR NIGHT.

AVATAR DORMANT, RADIO OPPERATOR RELAXES.

CAMERA ZOOMS OUT WINDOW TO ACROSS STREET. SOLDIER SHOOTS, HITS THE DUO'S RADIO.

RADIO OPPERATOR STARTLED. SHOOTS, KILLS.

GOES TO RADIO, IT SMOKES.

OTHER RADIO CRACKLES. RUSSIAN VOICE.

SILENCE

RADIO OPPERATOR ATTEMPTS TO QUICKLY CALL CONTROL.

BUILDING OPPOSITE: BASEMENT. RADIO CONTROLLER TALKS TO OFFICER.

OFFICER TELLS MACHINE GUNNER TO CHECK UPSTAIRS/ACROSS THE STREET.

GETS UPSTAIRS, SEES BODY, LOOKS ACROSS, SPRAYS BUILDING.

RADIO OPPERATOR DYING AS HE GETS THROUGH TO CONTROL.

RED FLASHING ROTATING ALARM WITH SOUND IN QUARTERS NEXT TO MACHINE TO WAKE JOSEPH.

QUICK GETTING IN.

GETS IN AS HE SAYS GOODBYE.

JOSEPH CLEARS BASEMENT OPPOSITE, VIEW FROM INSIDE, EXPLOSION, DONE.

Russian navy protected by sea mines. Mine locations kept in office next to black windowed building used for training. The only knowledgable high ranking officials in cut-off Russian army unit in building.

One bomb in that room to make the entire norther Russian navy unable to move. USA subs are four days out.

Bomb small, bag big, hard to throw.

"This bag's got about as much aerodynamics as shitty toilet tissue.

"How do you expect me to throw this through a window, across an alley, and then through another god damned window?

BOMB EXPERT SITTING WITH CHILD INSIDE OPEN BARN (10 years old ish)(shoulder length dirty blonde hair)

FLASHBACK TO KILLING GUNWIELDING FARM OWNERS WITH KNIFE

CHILD COMES OUT OF HOUSE, AS BOMB EXPERT FINISHES HIDING BODIES.

TALKS, POLISH. ADOPTED.

FACE EXPLODES OUTWARDS.

Kid appears and picks up backpack, "guess you'll be needing me to carry this

Kid doesn't have full cover, gets head burnt by flamethrower, dies, head red raw.

"Now THAT'S aerodynamics!

Picks up kid, wearing backpack, kicks kid through window, through second window, camera slows, timer ticks down in bag. zoom out of bag mid air, bang.
